There are many auspicious and beneficial reasons to chant Hare Krishna, but here are ten of our favorites—plus one bonus reason.

1. Krishna will dance on your tongue

"Kṛṣṇa and Kṛṣṇa’s name nondifferent. As soon as you chant Hare Kṛṣṇa, that means Kṛṣṇa is dancing on your tongue."

(Srila Prabhupada Lecture, Seattle, October 20, 1968)

2. You'll be freed from sinful reactions

"One who chants the holy name of the Lord is immediately freed from the reactions of unlimited sins, even if he chants indirectly [to indicate something else], jokingly, for musical entertainment, or even neglectfully. This is accepted by all the learned scholars of the scriptures."

(Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam 6.2.14)

3. You'll make great spiritual advancement

"As a result of chanting the Hare Kṛṣṇa mahā-mantra, one makes such great advancement in spiritual life that simultaneously his material existence terminates and he receives love of Godhead. The holy name of Kṛṣṇa is so powerful that by chanting even one name, one very easily achieves these transcendental riches."

(Caitanya-caritāmṛta Ādi 8.28)

4. You'll attain love of God quickly

"So Kṛṣṇa consciousness is so beautiful thing that it does not require any material acquisition, neither it can be checked by any material… anywhere, any part of the world, at home or out of home, anywhere you can, with your ecstasy, you can chant Hare Kṛṣṇa, and you attain love of God very quickly."

(Srila Prabhupada Lecture, London, August 26, 1971)

5. You can chant at home

"People go to places of pilgrimage in order to be delivered from the reactions of unknown sinful acts. But one can be freed from all sinful reactions simply by remembering His holy name. The Lord is therefore as good as the holy places of pilgrimage. One can be free from all sinful reactions after reaching a place of pilgrimage, but one can have the same benefit at home or at any place simply by chanting the holy name of the Lord."

(Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam 2.7.15, Purport)

6. You'll be free from the complexities of life

"Following in the footsteps of Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu, this Kṛṣṇa consciousness movement is recommending this process all over the world. We are saying, 'Chant the Hare Kṛṣṇa mahā-mantra, be freed from all the complexities of life and realize Kṛṣṇa, the Supreme Personality of Godhead. Engage in His devotional service and perfect your life so that you can return home, back to Godhead."

(Caitanya-caritāmṛta Madhya 25.198, Purport)

7. You'll be relieved of all distresses

"One should follow in the footsteps of Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu and engage constantly in chanting the mahā-mantra—Hare Kṛṣṇa, Hare Kṛṣṇa, Kṛṣṇa Kṛṣṇa, Hare Hare/ Hare Rāma, Hare Rāma, Rāma Rāma, Hare Hare. Then he will never feel the distresses of the world of duality. In any condition of life one will be happy if he chants the holy name of the Lord."

(Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam 6.17.30, Purport)

8. You'll be saved

"So this vaccine of chanting Hare Kṛṣṇa mahā-mantra will keep you fit without any contamination of this age of Kali. And that is happening. All over the world people are chanting Hare Kṛṣṇa mahā-mantra. And practically we see, those who are chanting, they're becoming free from the contamination. If you follow the rules and regulations, very simple thing, and chant Hare Kṛṣṇa mahā-mantra... That is our only request. Then, in spite of this contaminated age of Kali, you'll be saved. You'll be saved."

(Srila Prabhupada Lecture, Hawaii, January 15, 1974)

9. You'll be happy

"So Kṛṣṇa consciousness is there in everyone's heart; simply one has to revive it by this association, this Kṛṣṇa consciousness association. So it is neither difficult, nor impractical, nor very unpalatable. Everything is nice. So our request to everyone that let them take this munificent gift of Lord Caitanya, Kṛṣṇa consciousness movement, and Hare Kṛṣṇa chanting, and you'll be happy. That is our program."

(Srila Prabhupada Lecture, Seattle, October 20, 1968)

10. The people of the world will be happy

"One can sit down anywhere and chant Hare Kṛṣṇa, Hare Kṛṣṇa, Kṛṣṇa Kṛṣṇa, Hare Hare/ Hare Rāma, Hare Rāma, Rāma Rāma, Hare Hare. If the surface of the globe is overflooded with the chanting of the Hare Kṛṣṇa mantra, the people of the world will be very, very happy."

(Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam 4.24.10, Purport)

Bonus Reason: Prabhupada will be happy

"Take prasāda and chant Hare Kṛṣṇa, that's all. And we have now nice buildings. Live there peacefully, chant Hare Kṛṣṇa. Bas. This is my success. If I see that you are living very nicely, chanting very nicely, then all my labor is successful."

(Srila Prabhupada Conversation, Bombay, August 13, 1976)
