Hare Krsna To All
Glories to Srila Prabhupada
Below is a pictorial and video record of the festival which we here in Sedro Woolley Wa USA just observed on Sunday Aug 29th, 2010
We held this event on Sunday so that all the local devotees could attend and celebrate the Divine Appearance of the Lord 5000 years ago as well as honor the appearance of His pure devotee, AC Bhaktivedanta Swami Srila Prabhupada. Later this week in our own ashrams we all will observe the actual date.
We offered over 108 different preparations here which included 70  kinds of burfy, Gulab Jamuns, Sweet Rice,2 kinds of apple chutney, tomato chutney bean pate, paella, cream of tomato soup, turnip pasta, zucchini /turnip/cabbage pilaf, roasted vegetables, summer squash/kofta casserole, saurekraut, 16 kinds of dried fruit, 12 kinds of fresh fruits ,  garden pasta, rice, and coleslaw. And more.....
The devotees who came very heartedly took part in the many kirtans which ensued throughout the program. Lots of dancing even for a bunch of old timers like most of us who managed to keep up a steady  drum beat which kept the feet all leaping off the temple room floor. We gave class on the BG verse "Janma karma ca me divyam.." and then read parts of a lecture by Srila Prabhupada  who explained that "knowing "Krsna meant- to come to the Brahma bhuta platform first and then by constantly engaged in Devotional Service, as this was the only way to know Krsna in fact. Sentimental understanding like Krsna appeared in Mathura, killed Kamsa, etc is OK for those who say "Yes,Yes, I know Krsna", but will not guarantee ones transfer back to Home back to Godhead. One has to know Krsna in fact starting with knowing  (with conviction) one is not that material body.
All glories to His Divine Grace Srila Prabhupada who is taking us all back to Godhead.
your humble servants
