Below are a few paragraphs where Srila Prabhupada kindly explains that there is no difference between the teachings of Krishna in His Bhagavad-gita and Lord Chaitanya's teachings 500 years ago.

Krishna said – “Surrender to Me” and “There is no truth superior to Me…” and Chaitanyadev said as a devotee, “Everybody you meet, tell him about Krishna.”

So to surrender to God, Krishna in this day and age means to preach the teachings of Chaitanya Mahaprabhu. Preaching is the same as or equated with surrender to God.

And preaching can be done in four ways according to Srila Prabhupada – by your words, by your intelligence, by your wealth and by your life. Pick one or two or three or all four.

Lecture – Mayapur, March 27, 1975

Bhagavad-gita as it is is pure knowledge, beginning with the first knowledge one has to understand, that he is not this body. Because this is the basic principle all ignorance: "I am this body." "I am American," "I am Indian," "I am brahmana," "I am this," "I am that" – this is the basic principle. Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu also says the same thing in a different way. He says, "I am not a brahmana, I am not a ksatriya, I am not a vaisya, I am not a sudra, I am not a brahmacari, I am not a grhastha, I am not a vanaprastha, I am not a sannyasi." These are negation. Then what is the positive? He says, gopi-bhartuh pada-kamalayor dasa-dasanudasah: [Cc. Madhya 13.80] "I am the servant of the servant of the servant of the gopi-bhartuh, Krishna, who maintains the gopis."

… when Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu appeared five hundred years ago people already became fools and rascals. They did not care for the teachings of Bhagavad-gita. Therefore He again came as devotee of Krishna to teach us how to serve Krishna, how to love Krishna. This is Chaitanya Mahaprabhu's cult, the same thing. When Krishna appeared He said, sarva-dharman parityajya mam ekam saranam vraja: [Bg. 18.66] "Give up everything, so-called rascaldom. Just surrender to Me." And Chaitanya Mahaprabhu, He said the same thing as a devotee: yare dekha, tare kaha 'krsna'-upadesa.

He did not say anything new. That is the authenticity. "I have manufactured some way" – these are all rascaldom. The same thing you should… You can… Just like in your country it is said, "Old wine in a new bottle." Similarly, Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu is teaching the same thing. Krishna says, mattah parataram nanyat kincid asti dhananjaya. Chaitanya Mahaprabhu says the same thing: yare dekha, tare kaha 'krsna'-upadesa. And we are saying the same thing, na krsnat caitanyat para-tattvam: "There is no more superior truth than Krishna Chaitanya." Why? Because He is talking the same truth as Krishna said. This is called parampara system. What Krishna said, Chaitanya Mahaprabhu said the same thing, and we are talking the same thing.

So there is no difficulty to understand the Absolute Truth. It may be presented in a different way… Not different way. It is directly. Krishna says directly that "You surrender to Me," and Chaitanya Mahaprabhu says that "You preach this cult," yare dekha, tare kaha 'krsna'-upadesa , the same thing. We are not going to teach anything which is not spoken by Krishna and which is not supported by Krishna Chaitanyadeva. This is our principle. This is Krishna consciousness movement. Krishna preached Krishna Himself, Chaitanya Mahaprabhu preached the same principle, krsnas tu bhagavan svayam [SB 1.3.28], and we are preaching the same thing. We do not preach anything else. We do not manufacture anything. That is not our business.

So by the grace of Krishna, by the mercy of Chaitanya Mahaprabhu, you all European boys and girls joined this movement under my soliciting. I went to your country with this word only. I did not show you any magic, neither I have any knowledge how to play magic. That is not possible. I simply repeat the same thing, that "Here is Krishna, the Supreme Personality of Godhead. Here is Krishna Chaitanyadeva, the devotional form of Krishna. You accept Them. Your life will be successful."

Thank you very much.
