- There is distinction even in wood. There are so many jungle woods; we can use it for cooking. But the sandalwood, which is so valuable, if we do not know what is the value of sandalwood, if we use it for cooking and burning… Similarly, if we use this human form of life exactly like the cats and dogs, simply for sense gratification, then we are committing suicide.

- Ointment is applied to the eyes for clear vision. When the ointment of love of Godhead will be applied in our eyes, then with these eyes we shall be able to see God. God is not invisible. Simply like a man with cataract or any other eye disease, he cannot see. That does not mean the things do not exist. He cannot see. God is there, but because my eyes are not competent to see God, therefore I deny God. God is there, everywhere.

- Om is formless, but Krishna has got a beautiful form, enjoying. And we are addicted to beautiful form. Why something which is not beautiful? Krishna says in the Bhagavad-gita, “I am omkara.” So in one sense omkara and Krishna are the same. But I can see Krishna very beautiful and so many things, but I do not see in omkara that thing. Therefore my preference should be to Krishna.

- We are giving you prasadam. By eating, eating, eating, eating, you one day will become Krishna conscious, simply by eating. Because you are so dull, you cannot understand the philosophy. You know the belly like the animals. So therefore we are giving facility, “All right, fill up your belly, and you’ll be infected.” As you take foodstuff from an infected area, you become infected with some disease, so this is Krishna-infected, prasadam. You take it, and one day you’ll be diseased with Krishna consciousness.

- When there is suffering given by Krishna, a devotee does not take seriously suffering. A devotee thinks, “It is the favor of Krishna that he has put me into suffering.” They never see suffering as suffering. It is favor of Krishna. That is devotee’s vision. It is exactly like a son who knows his father well. If the father slaps, the son never protests. He knows that, “It is good for me.” Similarly, a devotee is never disturbed when there is suffering given by Krishna.

- Both by rising and by setting, the sun decreases the duration of life of everyone, except one who utilizes the time by discussing topics of the all-good Personality of Godhead.

- This human form of life is meant for athato brahma jijnasa, for understanding the Supreme. the Absolute Truth. But if we do not do so, if we simply remain like animal, then again we are going to the animal form of life. Misuse of the opportunity. Then we are... Therefore this Krsna consciousness movement is trying to save people from going down to animal life.

- Krishna is living everywhere, that is the vision of the higher devotees. Actually He’s living, but still, because we are in the lower condition, we should know that here is Krishna in the temple. Krishna is everywhere, but for us, because we have no such vision to see Krishna anywhere and everywhere, therefore we should come here in the temple and see Krishna, “Here is Krishna. Krishna has kindly appeared here in a manner in which I can see Him. That is Krishna’s mercy.” That is temple.

-We are meant for enjoyment, but we are seeking enjoyment in a false place – in an illusion, like the desert animals that run after water in a mirage and eventually die of thirst. They cannot relieve their thirst with such illusory water. Similarly, we are trying to manufacture many things to satisfy our thirst for enjoyment, but we are being baffled at every turn because material existence is an illusion. Real intelligence means to inquire, “Where is the reality? Where is the eternal substance behind the illusion?” If we can find that out, we can experience real enjoyment.

- One should not become father or mother... That is real contraceptive method. If one is Krsna conscious, then he knows that "What is the use of producing some children like cats and dogs? What is the use? If I produce any children, then they must be Krsna conscious so that this will be their last birth." Because if you become Krsna conscious then there is no more birth. Tyaktva deham punar janma naiti mam eti kaunteya [Bg. 4.9]. You send to Krsna, back to home -- that is required. Father, mother, guardian's duty is to educate the wards, subordinates, in such a way that he becomes fully Krsna conscious and so that he can be saved from this repetition of birth and death.

-So prakrti, this material nature is working, and if one is criminal... Criminal means we are. Just see the flies, the insects, how much they are suffering. Whole night, they struggle to enjoy the lamp. And in the morning all dead. All dead. This is their life. So we are thinking that we are better situated. No, we are not better situated. Our, the principle is the same, that you come here, you accept a certain type of body, and whole night, or whole life... Night means ignorance, darkness. So in ignorance you go on struggling whole life, and then you become dead, finished. The same thing. There is no difference between the life of the insect...

-Just like nowadays, by electronics, one man is sitting... We have seen the pilot. He's sitting in his place. He's simply pushing on the button, and the whole, big gigantic 747 is flying in the sky. We see the pilot is sitting there. He's doing nothing, but he's doing everything. But the electronic arrangement is so perfect. But sitting in one place he is working the big gigantic machine. As it is possible for a small material man, how much it is possible for Krsna. Although He does not do anything, still, He's visvatman: He is controlling the whole universe, visvatman. He's the vital force, visvat... This is Krsna.

December 19
-Just like we see sometimes the hills from our room. Here there are many hills in Los Angeles. But they are not distinct. When you are seeing the hills from a distant place, it looks like something cloudy. But if you go still further towards the hill, you'll distinctly find that there is something, hill. And if you come to the hill, then you'll find so many persons are working there, so many houses are there. There are streets, motorcars, everything, all varieties. So similarly, when one wants to know the Absolute Truth by his teeny brain, "I shall make research to find out the Absolute Truth," then you'll have vague idea, impersonal idea. And if you become a meditator, then you will find that God is situated within your heart. Dhyanavasthita-tad-gatena manasa pasyanti yam yoginah [SB 12.13.1]. The yogis, the real yogis, they, by meditation, they see visnu-murti within the heart. And those who are devotees, they meet the Supreme Person face to face just like we are meeting face to face, talk face to face, serve directly. The Supreme Personality of Godhead orders that: "You supply me this," and he supplies. That is the difference.

December 18
-Depend on Krishna, because after all, He is the ultimate Master of all situations. It is not the doctor, or the medicine, or the place, but it is ultimately Krishna who is the Master to do everything.

December 17
-Dedicate your life for Krishna. That is the perfection. Even if there are some faults, dedicated life is noble life. Maybe, due to our past habits, we may commit some faulty action, but that dedicated life is sublime.

December 16
-We should learn to forget and forgive minor incidents because whenever there are two men in a place, there is always some misunderstanding.

-Always remember Krishna Who is your dear most friend and always serve Him just to please Him, and He will give you all intelligence how to be a first-class devotee.
